I have to say that, if you have not listened to the podcast, you should do so. Bryan does address and anticipates many of the issues discussed in the comments, not only of the article but other threads as well.
Just listened to it again for a second time. Jesus seemed pretty specific in his desire to establish a Church. Many I come in contact with seem to shrug off the import of this and the necessity of the Church in their lives, sometimes opting for the concept of an invisible, nebulously connected church, or worse, the “me and my Bible” approach which virtually supplants the church comletely. Bryan’s comments reveal the insufficiency of this, and lays out the rationale as to why Christ’s Church MUST be visible and protected from teaching error. Great job gents.
